Meghan Markle debate gets heated as royal biographer Angela Levin hangs up live on air

Royal commentator Angela Levin hung up live on air when a news anchor claimed she had a “vendetta against Meghan Markle.”

The royal biographer is known for writing Prince Harry‘s 2018, Harry: Conversations with the Prince, and also the 2022 publication about Queen Consort Camilla, Camilla: From Outcast to Queen Consort. This week, Levin appeared on Talk TV where she was challenged on her negative views on Meghan Markle, by anchor JJ Anisiobi.

The topic of conversation on Talk TV was around the Duchess of Sussex’s new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard. Recently, Meghan sent out pots of jam from her brand to a set amount of influencers, and it seemed like Levin was less than impressed with the brand as a whole.

“I think the problem with Meghan is that she doesn’t wait until things sort of materialize, everything’s got to be done immediately. And if not, she drops the people and moves on and does something else,” she said of her business.

“We’ve seen that with one of her husbands, we’ve seen that with all sorts of things with the royal family and I think that people find that rather unpleasant.”

Levin then continued to speak about Harry and Meghan’s relationship, saying she left her husband “trailing behind her,” causing JJ to jump in.

“It sounds like you’ve got a vendetta against Meghan Markle,” he said.

“Angela, with respect you sound like a social media troll,” the journalist continued before Levin jumped in claiming his remarks were “very rude.”

The biographer then went on to comment on how ‘ridiculous’ the promotion of Meghan’s jam was with influencers, to which JJ explained, “It’s PR.” After a bit of back and forth it looked as if Angela had nothing left to say.

“You’re here to fight me so why don’t you say goodbye,” she sassily said waving at the camera. JJ then denied the claims he was trying to ‘fight her’ saying he was “laying out the truth” and that she ‘didn’t want to be challenged.’

“You’re very rude, goodbye,” the biographer exclaimed while hanging up live on air. Awkward!

The video is now going viral on social media, as Levin breaks her silence on X, formerly known as Twitter, after the appearance.

“Many thanks for your concern. I’m fine,” she wrote in response to a concerned viewer.

Social media has been blowing up with comments since, with many praising JJ for how he handled the situation. Others were concerned about the biographer how she was after leaving the interview.

With both sides of the argument, the subject was huge on Twitter, with Angela even trending in the UK at one point.

“Well done JJ Anisiobi for challenging Angela Levin,” wrote one user.

Another said: “Well done to the presenter for calling her out.”

“He was saying things that made sense she got p***** and left!” exclaimed another.
