Everyone is watching or has already watched You season 3, and they can’t stop talking about what has happened in this intense third season. There were several character deaths, some shocking and others expected. Does Ryan die in the latest season of You?
In You season 3, Joe and Love move to a new city and a new neighborhood in hopes of turning over a new leaf. But, of course, things begin to spiral when Joe notices the neighbor next door and develops an obsession. All it takes is for one huge mistake to be made by the Quinn-Goldbergs, and a ripple effect occurs.
New characters are introduced this season, and while some make it to the end of the season, others don’t. Is Ryan one of the lucky ones, or does he meet his demise?

Ryan dies in episode 9 of season 3. Anyone could’ve seen his death coming. He was a very unlikeable character. We didn’t know what to make of him when he was first introduced because he was just an ordinary news reporter.
However, it’s the scene he has with Marienne in episode 6 when we find out that he’s not a good person. He’s Marienne’s mentally and emotionally abusive ex-husband.
As the season goes on, we find out that he was a drug and alcohol addict like Marienne but has “supposedly” recovered from his addictions. We later find out that it’s all a facade and that he’s still doing drugs but puts them in his shakes so that people wouldn’t know.
He portrays to the media that he’s a good father but actually pawns off his daughter (Juliette) that he shares with Marienne to his mother when he has her. But what really grinds Joe’s gears about Ryan is that he constantly tries to sabotage Marienne so that she doesn’t get joint custody.
In the end, Ryan gets full custody and plans to move to New Jersey. However, when Marienne tells Joe that she’s going to move to New Jersey to get Juliette back, Joe panics and comes up with a way to get her to stay.
Joe falls back into his murderous ways and kills Ryan. He believes that to get Marienne to stay in Madre Linda, Ryan has to be permanently removed from her life.
So, he stalks Ryan from the gym all the way to the garage. After a heated discussion, Joe pushes Ryan off the ledge in the garage, and Ryan seemingly falls to his death. Somehow, Ryan survives the fall, and Joe meets him at the bottom of the garage to finish the job. Joe kills him by stabbing him with a pocket knife multiple times. He sets his murder up as a robbery-homicide by taking his wallet.
Joe had tried his hardest to change and live a normal life, but his dark urges always crept up on him when it came to the people he loved. There were other character deaths this season, but we think Ryan’s was one of the predictable deaths. This season might just be the best season of You. So make sure to stream You season 3 on Netflix.
